Lonely London?

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Does anyone else sometimes feel a little down? I’m having a bad week. I had to go to the dentist to get 2 fillings on Tuesday and then tomorrow I will have to go again to get another three. Then my friends in London haven’t even been in London this weekend so I feel like I have no friends, and then last weekend i went to see my family and friends back home and just made me think how much I miss them!

It’s difficult sometimes cos you just realise that all you do it get up go to work go home and then do it all again the next day. the best day of the week is saturday cos you dont think about work and can truly relax. but, by sunday you realise you have work the next day and everything is crap again!

i feel like i am moaning loads, so i will post again when in a better mood!

The Boxwood Cafe

Friday, August 1st, 2008

Ooooh yes! Get me! Last night I went to the Boxwood Cafe - located in the Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge. This isn’t just any old restaurant - it is one of Gordon Ramsay’s! The service was impeccable and the food was fantastic.

My boyfriend and I thought we would go for a nice meal as a joint birthday “do”. My birthday was last week and his is this week. I had a pea, asparagus and bean salad with feta for starters. He had the same. It was really tasty. The feta was really strong with a distinct taste and the veg was so fresh! I had seabass for the main. It was nice - but i have definately had better. My boyfriend had the rib eye steak -was huge! he said it was quite fatty. We had spinach as a side dish and it was cooked to perfection. For dessert we shared a chocolate fondue and home made ice cream cones. Definately reccommend both desserts. I wanted to try all of the desserts cos they all sounded so good!

Total bill came to £186. Including service charge of £20. It was really worth the money as I thought the restaurant was really great and not too pretentious. It’s not something you do every week either, its just a one off and something that you can remember forever!
