Girl In London

Anyone doing anything fun tonight? It’s Friday and I feel like I should be going out somewhere. For a girl in london, I am making a poor effort tonight. That’s mostly because I am ill with a cold so I can’t go out with workmates because I didn’t go to work.

I’m staying in with my boyfriend tonight. He has been away at his mum’s house in the countryside for the last few days and tonight he is cooking me a couq au van (whatever that is). I think its like a massive stew. Yay, think i would rather be a girl in london who stays inside the house tonight. There’s plenty of other nights i can go out, and its not every day that i get dinner cooked for me. hooray.

Wow, has anyone ever been to Borough Market in London Bridge. I went there yesterday (a busy Saturday) and it was AWESOME. The market is all about food, so dont go there expecting to buy clothes! There are so many fruit and veg stalls, along with meat/fish. It’s amazing, I have never seen so much fresh produce in one place! The stalls offer so much choice, you should see the amount of mushrooms you can buy from one stall! (see pic)

There were a lot of stalls offering burgers/hot dogs/chorizo rolls etc. They all smelled great, but I cant help but feel I was let down on this one occassion. I chose to eat at the corner grill which were cooking up burgers and hot dogs. At £3.80 a burger I thought it was quite pricey but I decided to get one anyway, thinking it would be the best burger I had ever eaten. Unfortunately the burger wasnt up to my high standards and tasted like it had been sitting on the grill for quite some time and wasn’t juicy at all What a disappointment…. I’m sure I will go back to Borough Market in the near future so if you know of any better food stalls then post a comment.

They also sell them at Cest Ici which is located in Kingly Court near Carnaby Street. I really recommend this restaurant, it has really great food and a friendly atmosphere. It has tables and chairs out in the courtyard, but is also a restaurant with a full bar inside. I went there for lunch the other day and tried their chicken pitta’s. The food was really tasty and also quite pricey, but a good treat!
