Girl In London

i’m back in my hometown of Brighton for the weekend. It’s mothers day so I have come to visit my mum and dad. Its really sunny down here and warm and I was down on the beach earlier - not sunbathing! but I walked along with a couple of my friends and then went to a bar. i haven’t seen my friends down here for AGES and it was so nice to see them - they are the type of friends you have known for years and will always be in touch. I think i have known my friends for about 15 years! thats crazy!

Its really nice being back home, no doubt i will be bored by tonight! My mum cooked a massive meal last night. i haven’t had a home cooked meal for ages. it’s really cosy and comfy here! But i know what i am like and by tomorrow i’ll be ready to go back to my house in London!

Guess what? i have finally managed to get a job! Yup, its a bit weird because its where I used to work as an assistant merchandiser. But now, I am going to be a Buyers associate for their lighting department. Wooooo! I am so pleased and excited, I was starting to worry that I’d have to move back home for a while there. Congratulations to me!

Has anyone noticed that the last couple of days have been a lot milder, and the sun has started to shine?! I’m so pleased. This morning I woke up and I was feeling a bit grumpy. I pulled back the curtain expecting to see a grey sky, but to my delight I saw sunshine! As soon as I saw the bright sky it made me smile. I started to think that in a couple more weeks the nights will start to get brighter and longer and warmer. Its going to be sooooooo nice. I think that the bad weather depresses me!

i’m job searching today - I called in sick for my temp job cos i couldnt be bothered to go today. im so lazy, but Acton takes ages to get to and I couldnt be arsed with it all! hahah! Hooray, im so pleased. I am applying for jobs and then I am going to go back to my house (am at my boyfriends) and cook myself a chicken stir fry! mmmm, im so hungry!

I feel like its a new week and good things are going to happen this week as I have two job interviews so I should get one of them! well, at least I hope so!!! yay! and my boyfriend has done a big deal at his company too today so the good luck has already started!

Has anyone seen the ads that are splurged all over girls magazines at the moment for M&S underwear? They have gone really cheap and sassy on their new range of mix and match knickers and bras. They are doing pretty girl colours (pink mainly) and leopard print. Ony £8 for a bra and £3 for the pants and they are really sexy too. Another bonus - they are 100% cotton!

 I tried to buy some yesterday but they were sold out of my size - must be due to their huge marketing campaign!

i’m having such a crap day today. I came to my boyfriends last night. Didn’t manage to get out of bed till about 1 today, then i washed my hair and it takes ages to dry. It’s still wet now and its 330pm. My boyfriend has gone out with his friends and I’m lonely. Not just that but I’m feeling so crap that I still haven’t found a job, its so difficult to get interviews and it’s really depressing. What a waste of the weekend. Just want someone around to make me feel better but everyone is out enjoying themselves.

I have been searching for jobs again. Today I had an interview where I used to work. I want to go back, but within a different role. So we’ll see about that one. Also, I went to an agency and had an interview there. Its so depressing as there doesn’t seem to be any jobs in buying which is what I want to do. I get so disheartened because I feel like I am constantly searching for jobs and not getting any luck. I am still temping in Acton, but its so far out of zone 1. It takes me two hours of travel each day (there and back). Oh well Hopefully I will find something great soon…

It’s sooooo cold today! I cant believe it’s so cold and it’s the weekend. Its really unfortunate because it has been stopping me from going out. When i do go out, i get so chilly, that i have to go back home again. I have stayed at my boyfriends house this weekend. I live here half the week and at my house the other half of the week. And then sometimes I go and visit my parents in Brighton. It can get a bit annoying sometimes because I always forget my phone charger or forget to bring fresh clothes! Today I bought a new phone charger so that solves that problem for a while - until I get a new phone at least….

I went to the beauty that is Edgware Road today. Now, when I first moved to London, this road used to scare the crap out of me! It’s quite scary and you feel like you have to hold on to your belongings as there are loads of Gypsies trying to get cash out of you (including small children). I’m used to it now though, I don’t get scared anymore. I quite like it, there are loads of amazing restaurants and you can always smell shisha and tasty chicken kebabs. And there’s this one guy who sells “Magic Corn”, I’m not sure why its magic, but its all good! Anyway, so the point was, I went to Edgware Road and bought myself a new phone charger at the knockdown price of a tenner! Yay! They are selling the same chargers for £30 in the carphone warehouse. Mine is probably nicked or something, but at least it works and I saved myself £20!

So now I have two phone chargers. One here and one at my house…Lucky for me that I have two pairs of GHD hair straighteners too. Honestly, I cant go out if I haven’t straightened my hair, it looks soooooo horrible!

Today I went to Covent Garden. We got the bus down there and kind of wished we hadn’t. There were a group of teenage girls upstairs at the back of the bus (one row behind me) and they were giving out a load of attitude. All of them were so noisy. The woman behind me kept telling them to ssshhhhush, and then one guy asked them when they were getting of the bus. They were so rude! I hate teenage kids sometimes, they all seem to have the same attitude problem up here in london. I’m sure when I was a kid I was much better behaved. I know I sound like an old person ranting, but they should just start acting their age!

So Covent Garden was really busy. I was going to get my palm read or a tarot reading but the lady was busy. Its probably a good thing though cos I am always really scared that if I ever have a tarot reading, the death card might come up!!! And i’m the kind of person that will worry I was going to die because of it! We went to a place called the Hospital. Its a private members club in nr Covent Garden. It’s really nice inside with a relaxed atmosphere and quite qaint. Definately would recommend it, it has amazing food and service.

Wow, I seem to be hungry all the time at the moment. I think its because it has been so cold the last few days! I’ll just blame it on the change of weather. How strange. I even feel hungry now and its 1730, it’s not even dinner time!

Hooray for the Weekend. It’s 1130 and I am still in bed. I am trying to figure out what fun things I can do today. The usual Saturday morning cooking programmes are on the tele and they are making me hungry! They are cooking banoffee pie, yum!

I wonder what the tubes are like today. I hate the fact they close them at the weekends so it makes it ten times worse trying to get anywhere. And that makes people more stressed than they already are! Well, to be honest I have no idea where I will be going today so I guess it doesn’t matter.
